The Great Gatsby Festival is a living history event, celebrating the life and times of the Prohibition Era. Begun in the mid-1980s, Gatsby has brought bootleggers, Model Ts, live jazz and more to the Tallac Historic Site throughout the last four decades. Find out what all the fuss is about this August!

The Vatican Speakeasy at the Pope Estate kicks off the Gatsby weekend on Friday night! The event features live music from the Jared Blum Band, 1920s inspired drinks, a raffle, and more. Table reservations include 1 drink and 5 raffle tickets.

THE JARED BLUM BAND

Jared Blum offers audiences music to dance to, music to reminisce to, listen, & enjoy, music to unwind to, music to “sooth the soul” & music to mend the human spirit! Hailing from Sacramento, California, his band has performed for the Great Gatsby Tea Festival most years since 2012 and they are thrilled to be back again for 2024! This year’s group features William Chan on guitar, Kayla Holland on bass, Dirk Stockton on drums, Jerry Matthews on tenor saxophone, and special guest vocalist Colleen Tescher! From small duos and trios to a full 17-piece big band, varying styles, Jared Blum Band is available for public performances, events & venues of all kinds: birthdays, weddings, wakes, bars, restaurants, parks, hotels, vineyards, festival venues, & private backyard or “living room” concerts. GREAT GATSBY FESTIVAL EVENTS

General admission to the Great Gatsby Festival is free, however certain events require ticket purchases. While Gatsby days are fun for the whole family, the Vatican Speakeasy is best suited for adults. Parking during the Great Gatsby weekend is challenging and carpooling is encouraged. Parking is also available at the Taylor Creek Visitor Center

Take a guided walk through the Pope House and meet some of the people of the past. Offered 11am to 3pm on Saturday & Sunday.

Swing by the speakeasy bar at the Pope Estate for taste of the times! Modern and non-alcoholic beverages also available. Hours are 12pm to 4:00pm Saturday & Sunday.

See the Tahoe Ukuleles perform at the Baldwin Estate on Saturday, August 3 from 11am to 12pm!

Take a chance and bid on some fabulous prizes, donated from generous community partners.

Participate in some friendly competition with fellow festival goers, with games like sack races and croquet. Games available all day Saturday & Sunday.

The Jared Blum Band takes the Pope Estate stage on Saturday, from 12PM to 4:30. 

Visit the vendor market for fascinating vintage clothing and jewelry, as well as locally made products. Market hours are all day Saturday & Sunday.

GATSBY TEA & FASHION SHOW

Hosted by Yesteryear Sierra, the Tea & Fashion Show is an enduring tradition at the Great Gatsby Festival. This year’s theme is “Tahoe’s Mansion Era: From Lucky Baldwin & his Tallac Casino in the 1880s to Henry Kaiser’s Fleur du Lac in the 1940s – and beyond.”

Tickets include catered 1920s lunch and desserts, tea, champagne, vintage fashion show, as well as live jazz music. This event is in partnership with Valhalla Tahoe and is held at the Heller Estate lawn. Tickets can be reserved online below, or by calling the Tallac Museum at 530-541-5227.
